This video showcases the Washington College Commencement and honors the graduating seniors of 2017. Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), gave the Commencement Address. An international leader and a trailblazer who has repeatedly transcended barriers in male-dominated fields, Lagarde received an honorary degree, Doctor of Laws. The Alumni Citation Recipient was awarded to Marvin Smith. Smith 67' is the last surviving member among the first four African-American students who first enrolled at Washington College in 1963, and the first African American named to the College’s Athletic Hall of Fame. Faculty and Student Awards, The Sophie Kerr Award and The Distinguished Teacher Award were also announced.
