Wickes Westcott was born September 6, 1923 in Chestertown, Maryland. Having graduated high school as the war began, Wickes discusses his enlistment and service in the Pacific front, as well as a description of Chestertown before and during wartime. He also discusses German POWs near Chestertown, and discusses his reactions to the bombing of Pearl Harbor, VJ Day, and other important moments of WWII.
Wickes Westcott gave his account of growing up in Chestertown and how the war affected the town. He spoke of the POWs in the area and also told what it was like being in high school during the war. He also told stories of his time being in the Pacific and what it was like to be there.
