Leon Wise, interviewed April 29, 2014 by Shane Benz, Rachel Brown, and Michael Buckley, recounts his time in the Army Air Corps (known today as the Air Force) during World War II. Wise talks about growing up in the time of the Great Depression, and how he went into the Army because he did not have much left at home. He goes on to recount his time along multiple Army bases in the south training to be a pilot, and how eventually he never left the states during the time of war. Following the war, Wise tells us of his return to a civilian lifestyle, using the G.I. Bill to go to college and eventually meet his wife.
